Wrestling Show Wrap-Up
Our long awaited wrestling event in Welling was last night! This one caused us a great deal of anxiety as for the first time ever holding any of our events we had a bit of a problem...
Sadly, the venue had a severe burst water pipe that caused a lof damage in the hall where we hold all of our inflatable days, wrestling shows and other events.
This meant that we had to change halls (still at the same venue - they have two very large halls), but also the date to the folowing evening.
For us, this was a genuine issue. Tickets had already sold and we needed to check and see if all the wrestlers and ring-crew where available for the following night.
Luckily, the wrestling production company took care of their side and confirmed back quickly that they could change to the following evening. Then the really hard work of contacting each and every single customer, explaining the issue and offering them either a full refund or transferring the ticket to the following evening.
At such short notice we wasn't sure what would happen, but luckily only 8 tickets couldn't make the revised date.
Despite the change, the event was a complete sell-out. There wasn't an single empty seat in the house and atmosphere was electric!
The show opened with a fantastic match between two local wrestlers, one of which is a genuine WWE NXT performer!
The evening continued and the action never stopped, with incredible and entertaining matches delivered by all of the wrestlers on the card. The ring announcer did an incredible job of delivering a consistently professional atmosphere and set the tone for the whole evening - This wasn't an amateur evening of pantomime performances, this was a genuine indie wrestling show with real wrestlers, real referees and top talent.
The last show of evening burst into an erupting crowd of cheers as the star poerformer "Little legs" - Europes smallest pro-wrestler entered the arena and delivered his incredibly well received match with tag team partner and locker room captain Sid Maneli.
Every child went home chanting and happy, with foam hands, great memories and signed autographed posters tucked under their arm ready to put up on their bedroom walls.
The hard work had all paid off and all we can think about is when is the next one?!
