09 September 22 - Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

HM Queen Elizabeth II

It's a very solemn day today as we reflect on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was the bedrock on which modern Britain was built, seeing 15 Prime Ministers in her reign. Never before (and likely never again) we will we see a monarch's reign last so long. She leaves a lasting legacy that will endure and be remembered by all that loved her.

She worked for her country until the very end, steadfast, enduring and with duty first. However, she was also humorous with a relatable sense of humour; Despite her position. She defined an era and it offers some comfort that she now returns to her Phillips arms, the love of her life.

In a world of constant change, she stood as a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons, including many who have never known their country without her.

She glowed with dignity thoughout her reign, enduring the perils and deprivations of a world war alongside the British people and rallied them during the devastation of a global pandemic to look to better days ahead.

As a company, one of our proudest moments was helping our local communities celebrate the Queen's Jubilee, with inflatable games, bouncy castles, slides and events dedicated to the celebration. We had never seen the nation come together as it had for this and the streets where filled with banners, decorations, party equipment, bunting and children playing in closed off streets with chalks, games, bouncy castles and party food.

We're pleased that she was able to see how much the nation loved her and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate after a rather long time without much to look forward to.

While many are reflecting on the Queen passing and her time as head of State, we're also looking forward to what it means going forward. Prince Charles is now King Charles III and ushers in a new era as the new monarch.

It's a very reflective time, lost in our own thoughts and contemplation, but we are also optimistic for the future and looking forward to the King's coronation. As a nation I expect we will celebrate our King's coronation and welcome the new monarch with love. Many will look to celebrate and have a Kings coronation party - we expect that this will be a bright time, full of hope and excitement; A time for all to come together, young and old. It is this spirit that we hope endures, a time for healing, tolerance and embracing eachother as a nation, together.
