16 August 22 - Inflatable Day Sessions in Welling

Inflatable Day hosted by us in Welling

What a day! We've been hosting these sessions for nearly 9 years, each time we learn something new and improve them some way; This event was no different, bringing in some different inflatables where we have seen them to be the most popular.

The truth is, we've been running them for years, starting off in a small hall and growing them to what they are today. They didn't used to be as big and well known as they are today, but we're pleased to say that we see the same faces every event with returning customers looking forward to the sessions; Some even coming twice in a day!

It takes time to get things right, knowing what equipment will be loved, how many staff are needed, what food to offer, the session duration and how many sessions to run and at what times. Making sure there's a first-aider, remembering to bring toilet rolls, hand-wash and blue-roll incase the venue has ran out. Learning that you need to think about parents who bring babies and offering a baby change station, contactless payment, where to position the inflatables and how much space is needed for parents with strollers, how big of an area to accomodate younger siblings and a toddler area, being first-aid trained and making sure the staff know what to do in case of an accident or issue.

The right venue is important, too. We have a very special relationship with Welling School, they trust us to take care of their venue and host a safe event. We need a space that large, with more than good enough parking, toilet facilities and

We believe that it's never 100% right. We're always learning and always making improvements and it's only with time that you can build something that people want to come back to time and again, to trust that we aren't just in it for a quick buck, but genuinely want to host community events and put on the best event possible.

Competition has risen recently, with other companies offering inflatable days, there's an inflatable park opening up in Thamesmead and it seems like more bouncy castle companies are catching on to the idea. While we wish them the best of luck, we really appreciate everyone that comes to our events and chooses to come back to us; Without the numbers we simply couldn't afford to run them, so thank you. We hope we're able to continue with them for many years to come.

The RUSH slide and Helter-Skelter are often the most attractive to children and where we see the most attention, to mitigate this we introduced a second big RUSH slide and swapped it over from a bouncy castle with a slide.- This did remove a bouncy castle, but we feel it was the right decision based on feedback and how evenly it spread out users. The big equipment is clearly the most loved, it's different and not something that you usually see or have access to, so it makes sense that this would make the event even better.

We will always take feedback and try to make changes where we think we could improve, whether it's different equipment, times, staff, what we offer to eat and drink or anything else people might have an idea about. Many of our changes are infact directly a result of customer feedback.

One of the biggest things we are proud of is our SEN exclusive sessions; These were introduced several years ago as a way for SEN families to have access to the event in a more comfortable way. We halve the capacity, remove the marshal's whistles, turn off any music, relax all the rules and make other accomodations that SEN families have fed back to us.

These sessions sell out the fastest as they are so well received. That never used to be the case, they hardly ever sold and took a long time to get running and adopted. We engaged the local SEN communities, took their feedback, made changes accordingly and now they are the highlight of the day for us. Unfortunately they do not really make any profit, they're only possible because of the non SEN-Exclusive sessions and we couldn't run them without them, but they offer the chance for families who would otherwise find it too difficult to attrend to come and have a great time. It's a plce where they do not have to worry about how other families and parents might receive them if something happens, a place to meet other families in the same or similar situations (many of them already know eachother), they don't need to worry about it being over-crowded and for a lot of children at these sessions it's the first time they've ever been able to go.

For us, one of the best things is that the children aren't isolated, they aren't stuck at home and not coming because it's just not worth the chance of something happening, for a lot of SEN children it's the only time they get to go to an inflatable day. It's an honour for us to be trusted by so many SEN families, where they can go with the safe and secure feeling that we wont let them down.
