Maypole Primary School Fete
We was recently asked by Maypole Primary School in Bexleyheath to provide some inflatable fun for their event. They wasn't holding an exclusively bouncy castle fun day, but instead had lots of stalls, fun-fair games and other activities for the children, they just wanted to add some extra fun and elevate their fete to something a little more grand.
They had a small budget to achieve this and decided that adding some inflatables to the event would give it that extra touch they was looking for.
Was was happy to provide a medium sized bouncy castle and a mega slide, perfect for their request and also easy enough for the children attending from the SEN class to also use with ease, not too big and intimidating but also fun and engaging.
It's a shame we didn't take photos of the rest of the set-up, it was quite the show! We received feedback at the end of the fete from the organisers that the inflatables where the highlight of the fete and they planned on holding another one next year and going bigger than before!
Having a small budget they needed the biggest impact and wasn't in a position to cost in for generators. However, the power supply from the school wasn't close to the field due to the layout of the playground and position of the school. We can't erect inflatables on tarmac or hard surface for safety reasons and they need to be sited on grass, so they school was greatful that we carry 2.5mm core cabling; This enabled us to take the power from the school and run the cables a maximum of 50 metres, which was enough to place them safely where they wanted them to go.
Most bouncy castle companies can only go 25 metres max on their cables, but we're different as we carry specialist heavy duty cables that are intended for long-term outdoor use (they type you might use to power an out-building from the main building's supply). This enables us to safely extend the length possible and double the length to 50 metres without issue; Which allowed the school to use all the available budget for the inflatables directly instead of worrying about the extra cost of generators.
It's a wonderful school and it's clear to see how much the parents, school and PTA care about it's students. We look forward to returning again next year!
