Bouncy Castle in Your Home?
The world-wide pandemic had affected people and families in many ways. One of the seemingly unimportant ways is people's ability to celebrate their birthdays and entertain their children; A special way to mark the ocassion. People have been asking us if they can have a bouncy castle in their home, the short answer to this is, now you can!
Over the summer months people could mix in small groups; Which was fine for small gathering in your garden, perhaps with nanny and grandad over.
Sadly though, over the winter it became impossible for most bouncy castle companies to continue to operate. With halls unable to take bookings for parties and restrictions becoming more intense, couple with the cold weather, it seemed impossible to have any sort of special party.
That has now changed! A growing question that we previously wouldn't have thought possible, was whether a a bouncy castle can be hired for your home? This was always something that we felt wouldn't be viable. Most bouncy castles (even small ones) wouldn't fit in safely. There simply wouldn't be the room!
However, one of our favourite manufacturers launched a new product; The indoor home bouncy castle! We immediately saw the appeal and a chance to fullfill the demand that our customers kept asking us for. We didn't hesitate and today we ordered two of them on the spot, the first day of launch!
They've only just been ordered today, but they will be here very soon with two home bouncy castles in stock and ready to hire from Jan 28th!
We decided that we would like to offer a choice of two, so ordered a pinka nd purple one along with a red and blue one! We have computer generated images below, but they will look similar to the photo above.
So what makes them suitable for home hire? The primary reason is it's size. Never before have we ever had bouncy castles this small before. They are each only 7 foot wide and 7 foot long with a height of 6.5 foot (which is just short of a standard door frame). The height means that they can be inflated indoors in a home without touch the ceiling (assuming you have a standard ceiling height above normal door frame level).
The length and width also make them much more practical to inflate indoors. Most standard childrens bouncy castles are someone between 10 foot wide and 12 foot long to 12 foot wide and 15 foot long; These are just 7 foot by 7 foot.
Despite the small size, the internal space is actually maximised to the fullest! Instead of having bouncy castle walls, it has neeted sides. It still has bouncy castle turrets, but instead of inflatable side and back walls, it has tight netting. This means that kids bounce up and down instead of trying to climb the walls or bounce off of them (which is to be avoided when indoors).
The netting is sewn to the external sides of the turrets, meaning that the inside space is maximised. Usually on an 11 foot wide bouncy castle, the walls of it sit on the base and take up a foot either side, reducing the internal bounce area to 9 foot. Using the netted side walls the internal area is still smaller than a standard castle, but not by as much as you would think. Check out the video below to see one in action!
When hiring a home bouncy castle you need to ensure that you have the right space. In some cases you may well need to move the sofas out the way and ensure that you do not have a low light or low hanging ceiling fan directly above the inflatable. There needs to be enough clear space free of obstruction both around the inflatable as well as above it; Ensuring that users will not have any chance of hitting their head on any obstruction. Of course, part of this is also ensuring that only age appropriate users are using the bouncy castle, too. They are not designed for adults.
If you would like a bouncy castle set-up in your home for your childs birthday (or even just a treat) we'd love to
hear from you!
