Child Cancer Lock Down Bouncy Castles
Lockdown – not a complex word; not commonly used daily; and then along came 2020. What did lockdown mean for you? More family times? Isolation? Furlough?
Lockdown was hard. It was hard on the young, the elderly and everyone in between. Watching out of our windows here at Elliott’s Bouncy Castle Hire, we saw you and we waved. We saw the dog walkers, the bike riders, the children desperate to run, the babies in prams and the resilient on their mobility scooters. However, not everyone could get out for their daily sanctioned walks, or to stretch their legs, or stroll freely in the park. Imagine, if you can, the sheer fear we all felt; with the added complications of a lowered immunity as a by-product of cancer treatment; or a weakness in recovery from cancer. It is hard to imagine or place yourself there during lockdown without the usual support and help isn’t it? Support Groups, Hospital drop ins, family visits – all cancelled. Its isolating. Now, imagine it is a child who is fighting or recovering from cancer. No friends, no peer support, no education, just added complications, worries and even more isolating time spent indoors.
Luckily, our service, hygiene, polices and reputation are locally renowned, and when a local hospital who we have previously worked with reached out to us, we were only too happy to help!
We provided twelve hires to families who have children with cancer. It was an honour to deliver the inflatables to such strong, deserving and inspirational families, enabling these isolated households to have some fun and joy.
We were chosen for our meticulous cleaning routines, and understanding of the risks involved. We let the families keep them for a minimum of three days, ensuring maximum smiles with less risks, and as always, ensured that they were rested for five days (much longer than the recommended 72 hours) and had been swept, hoovered, soapy washed and sanitised and air dried.
We ensured a contact free delivery and collection; just another part of our protecting us and our customers from COVID 19, so it as even more heart warming to find a gift of a very appreciated bottle and an incredibly thoughtful thank you card left by the inflatable as we arrived to collect! It was even signed by the girls thanking us, and we have also received other cards on collection with our customer’s thanks. There is only one thank you to be made however, and that is for us to thank YOU for trusting us to serve you under such hard circumstances. We have worked hard to build our reputation, build our policies, uphold our values and to gain your trust. For placing your trust in us – we thank you.
