Inflatable Day in Welling
On the 8th of August we held the biggest inflatable day we've ever hosted. We managed to get hold of some drone footage below and took some pictures as well.
The event was a sell out and a big success. We saw hundreds of people on the day and every child was thrilled. Despite having hosted our own inflatable days for the last 7 years, we have never hosted an inflatable day on such a large scale before. It was easily twice as big as anything we have ever previously hosted and was also outside, needing generators, portable toilets and other measures.
It was a very big under-taking and the day started at 03:30 to begin setting up. We managed to raise £5064 for charity after all costs and that money is being used by Jake's Story to fund equipment and initiatives at Tiger Ward (the child cancer ward at Queen Elizabeth hospital, in Woolwich).
It has to be said though, that this wasn't our win alone. We had a lot of help! We was humbled to have Carolines Castles, Tiny Town Soft Play, Mummy & Me Soft Play, Smiles Soft Play and Bouncing Higher all come to the event, bringing equipment, staff and years worth of experience. They all pitched in, helping to set-up, staff the event and pack away afterwards! None of them took a penny, every single person volunteered their time and equipment to help raise the incredible amount!
We've never had so much variety, so many cool inflatables and so much space before, we had 75 foot assault courses, 50 foot assualt courses and 28 foot fun-runs, we had 20 foot tall slides, wipeout games, a special toddler zone as well as much much more! We received a tonne of positive feedback and despite it being sold-out, there was zero over-crowding. We kept numbers very manageable and made sure we had more than enough staff to cope.
We was incredibly touched by all the the volunteers help and support. We drafted in family, friends and then their family too! It was a real local team effort that saw everyone come together to host what was in our opinion the best inflatable day Welling has ever seen. The money raised will really help to make little changes on the ward and enable us to be fast acting when their is an urgent need.
We're not sure when we will be hosting another inflatable day, but it's currently the number one question we're being asked!
