Happy Father's Day Everyone
Evey now and then we post about how we're a family run business, it forms the core of our business. It was very nice to wake up to father's day cards and this special made wooden sign!
I've seen cool things like this before; A bumper sticker saying "Mum's taxi" or a sign for "Grandad's tool shed". This is something very special though and not something that was picked up off the shelf on a whim, but thought of and made ahead of time and with love.
Even more so than the already very lovely thought, is the reassurance and confirmation it provides behind it. Quite often you hear about parents getting it wrong. They regret spending so much time at work or missing out, they wished they had done things differently. On the other hand, bills still need to be paid and without an income, the family would be in a terrible state. Sometimes finding a balance is very difficult.
We're very lucky to have a true family run business (rather than just a catch-phrase) where we all enjoy it. Our children still love having a bouncy castle in the garden, helping occassionaly and are thrilled that their parents do their own school's inflatable fun day. They're proud and they enjoy it.
We keep a finger on the pulse for taking on too much work and make sure we have time away and separate from the business to spend with them. It's a very fortunate position to be in, not everyone is able to find tht balance or "afford it".
It's an incredibly nice feeling to know they they still think it's "cool" that we do this business after 7 years and they took the time to show their support and love in this way.
