The Lesser Spotted "Super Mum"
Well, that title is a bit miss-leading really. The "super mum" is spotted everywhere, all the time, but a more appropriate name might be the "Lesser Recognised "Super Mum"". While delivering bouncy castles and setting up parties it's something we see all the time. There's mum, the first one at the hall. She's arrived before the caretaker or hall owner, coat wrapped up round her ears and blowing on her hands for warmth. She has the cake in the car, ready to blow up balloons, got the sandwiches ready and been busy all morning getting things ready for the party.
They spot us arrive and generally you can see them grow just a tiny little bit as it's one less thing to worry about; The bouncy castle man has arrived. A super mum's life is full of worry and these parties are no exception. In fact, she's done everything she can to make it the best party possible and now she's worrying on other people holding up their end. We're very pleased on that front, we know how much we're relied upon and have never ever cancelled any party for any reason other than extremely high winds which result in a danger to life (and only apply to outside hires).
In truth, her biggest fear is that everyone turns up to her child's party. Everything she really worries about is actually out of her control, she knows she has done everything possible to make it a great day, but she's still worrying.
Today was no exception. We set-up for a party in Sidcup and there was a mum with a baby that was under 6 months old, as well as the birthday girl herself and her younger sister. As per usual she was the first person there, smile on her face and already out of breath! Incidently, she's also the last person to leave, after sweeping up by herself and taking the bins out.
We're glad it was a great party, there are some pictures below. We can't take credit for all these parties though, we only help support the "super mum" and her tireless efforts to make her children happy. "Super Mum", we salute you!
