Every bouncy castle and inflatable needs to be inspected by a competent person at least once a year. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recognises few bodies to be competent (so in reality you can't "inspect" the inflatables yourself, as the HSE doesn't recognise you, and you would have a hard time proving that you're competent. Even if you are a recognised inspector yourself, it's not best practise to inspect your own equipment).

Maybe that's a little too much information. It's much easier to think of inflatables in this regard like cars. They need an MOT once a year!

Most of our inflatables our actually brand new or under a year old. However, two of them was coming to the end of the last inspection, so we decided to get them all done at once so it's easier to keep track. Plus, it never hurts to be safe.

We managed to take a few photos below (not as many as we would have liked, but enough to show that we are commited to a safe operation).

There is a scheme called PIPA that allows bouncy castles and inflatable slides that have gone through their inspection to have a blue disc attached to the bouncy castle with a unique number. This number can then be looked up on https://www.pipa.org.uk/ and any member of the public can see details about the inflatable, if it is currently within 12 months of it's last inspection and some other details.

We are publishing all of this information about our inflatable slides and bouncy castles on our website. However, that scheme only applies to bouncy castles and inflatable slides (sadly). For inflatable ball pools and other inflatable devices the PIPA scheme won't list them. For these inflatables we have hard copies of the RPII inspection sheets that we will make available to any customer needing a copy.
