Electrical Safety
This isn't a usual type of post for us, but we feel it's worth mentioning. We take safety on all front very seriously, but today we wanted to mentioned about electrical safety.
While all of our equipment in PAT tested, it's not enough. You can PAT test an extension reel that's 10 amps and for indoor use, but then use it outside and run two blowers off it that are over 10 amps; An accident waiting to happen through negligence. As a bouncy castle hire company we need to know about this stuff.
We use 16 amp water proof connections with in-line RCD's. This goes beyond best practice, but we can sleep safely. You won't find us putting out indoor extension reels and then wrapping it up in a shopping bag! There's no need for it.
If we need to split a connection to run more than one electrical item, then we will either run a second lead, or split using a 16 amp water proof splitter.
If we're putting in a disco light or an internal speak, we use water proof equipment and water proof connections.
We recently attended a venue where their outside plug was 16 amp. Most other bouncyc astle hire companies would not have been able to fullfill the job. We actually carry a 16 amp male to female lead as an extension (just incase the 25 metre leads we carry are not long enough for any any reason), so we was able to use that. However, this caused a large amount of un-neccesary lead length. Since then, we have had specially made male 16 amp to 13 amp water proof convertors made, all ip44 rated and water proof.
No matter the job, we have the right leads and electrical equipment for it. More importantly though, it's tested, safe and water proof. You don't have to worry about it tripping your house or the blowing fuses at the venue. You don't have to be concerned if it rains. We do things right and it;s something we're very proud of!
